Job Description :

Summary

The Logistics Coordinator plays a pivotal role in coordinating and executing multi-modal logistics across both domestic and international freight channels. This position ensures the timely and cost-effective transportation of goods by effectively managing schedules, coordinating with carriers and freight forwarders, and maintaining strict compliance with international trade regulations.

Work Location: 10285 Highway 23 Belle Chasse, LA 70037

Work Environment Schedule: Hybrid- 5 days/40hour

Remote Days: Monday and Friday

On-Site Requirement: Oak Point Plant Tuesday through Thursday

Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Central Time)

Essential Functions

• Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers, freight carriers, and customs brokers to arrange transportation. Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and proactively address delays or issues.

• Transaction Management: Oversee all logistical transactions for shipments, including purchase orders, processing goods receipts, generating booking requests, bill of ladings, certificates of analysis, and timely posting of outbound shipments.

• Import Documentation: Track and forward import documentation to customs brokers for filing and clearing freight imports, ensure documentation retention per company policy.

• SAP Transactions: Perform transactions in SAP to update shipment progress, execute goods receipts, and manage material movements. Generate necessary documents from SAP to book and execute transportation.

• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with planning, customer service, and logistics team members to execute order plans and resolve order execution issues.

• Compliance: Ensure all documentation requirements for hazardous materials and dangerous goods are met, in accordance with International Air Transportation Association (IATA), International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code, Department of Transportation (DOT), and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICOA) regulations.

• Tracking: Use the third-party portal tracking system to monitor orders and regularly provide updates to key stakeholders regarding any delays.

• Technology Proficiency: Effectively utilizes Microsoft 365, third-party tracking portals, and SAP/MII to execute logistics responsibilities.

• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and effective problem-solving, planning, and collaboration abilities.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Understands regulations and compliance requirements related to shipping across various transportation modes.

• Adaptability: Quickly adjusts to new tools, processes, and dynamic work environments.

• Collaboration : Works effectively with cross-functional teams and colleagues across departments to achieve shared goals.

• Initiative & Ownership: Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and takes ownership of tasks to ensure timely and accurate execution.

• Time Management: Manages multiple priorities efficiently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

  • College degree/Technical Certification preferred in business, logistics supply chain, transportation or related program
  • H.S. diploma/GED required
  • One (1) year or more related warehouse, dispatch, customer service or administrative experience required
  • One (1) year or more Logistics, Customs and/or Supply Chain Management program or relevant experience required

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:
