Summary
The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for coordinating daily transportation scheduling operations to ensure on-time shipment of freight while working closely with warehouse operations. The supervisor oversees freight movement; processes collect freight requests through multiple transportation portals and ensures compliance with service and customer requirements. This role owns and manages the site's dock scheduling process, ensuring efficient use of dock capacity, alignment with warehouse labor, and timely carrier pickups and deliveries. This position serves as a critical link between warehouse, carriers, and internal stakeholders to drive efficiency and reliability across inbound and outbound freight activities.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate daily transportation and dock scheduling activities to support warehouse operations and on‑time freight delivery
- Partner with warehouse leadership and carriers to align dock capacity, shipment priorities, and carrier availability
- Process collect freight and manage dock appointments through transportation and scheduling portals, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Monitor schedule adherence, resolve missed or rescheduled appointments, and minimize shipment delays caused by dock execution
- Communicate proactively with carriers, customer and internal teams regarding shipment status and service issues
- Maintain accurate transportation records and support continuous improvement of transportation and dock scheduling processes
Additional Responsibilities

Skills and Abilities
- Supervisory or lead experience in transportation or logistics operations
- Familiarity with LTL, TL, and parcel shipping methods
- Experience working with customer routing guides and compliance requirements
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to track and improve performance metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Bachelors of Business, Logistics, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Required
- 5 years or more in Industry related experience with Bachelors degree or 8 years of experience with HS diploma., Required
- Proficiency in MS Office Excel, Access and PowerPoint Advanced, Required
- Competency in Statistical and/or Transportation Analysis tools Advanced, Required
- Knowledge of Ryder TM Operating Tools Advanced, Required
- Working knowledge of FBAP, TIS, ROL and TM systems Advanced, Required

Compensation Information :
