SAIC is seeking a Chief Architect to join our team in Boulder, CO to support an effort with US Space Force.

As the Chief Architect you will be  overseeing and planning the enterprise-level evolution of the consolidated Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Test and Analysis Program (TAP) Lab/Backup Government Integration Facility (BGIF)/Operational Baseline Assessment Center (OBAC) hardware and software technical baseline. This position is listed as a “key position” for the contract, reflecting its critical importance to our mission success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the OPIR TAP Lab/BGIF/OBAC hardware and software baseline is thoroughly documented and maintained in MBSE models (CAMEO).
  • Lead the identification of architecture-level risks, issues, and opportunities, and develop strategic responses to address them.
  • Convene and lead working groups (both standing and temporary) to conduct studies, perform trades, and develop effective solutions.
  • Develop and recommend long-term investments (3+ years) to align with and meet the strategic direction and goals of the enterprise.
  • Provide high-level technical oversight and guidance to ensure the integrity and evolution of the technical baseline.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications Education:

  • Masters and sixteen (16) years or more experience in in engineering, computer science, or a related IT field; PhD or JD and fifteen years or more experience.
  • 15 years of industry-related experience, including a minimum of 5 years in software development, integration, and/or testing in operational Department of Defense (DoD) or other national security facilities. Experience may include roles in both industry and Government settings.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
  • Proven ability to document complex hardware/software configurations and baselines.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary working groups.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on strategic planning and investment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to guide teams and stakeholders effectively.
  • In-depth understanding of national security requirements and DoD operational environments.

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
