SAIC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Software Systems Engineer to lead our engineering team in Hawaii. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in expanding our footprint within the Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) area, fostering strong customer relationships, driving business development, and mentoring team members. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to support our growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management and Leadership:
- Lead and manage a diverse team of software engineers and technical staff based in Hawaii.
- Provide strategic direction, set goals, and ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
- Expansion in INDOPACOM:
- Develop and implement strategies to expand SAIC's presence and operations within the INDOPACOM region.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in alignment with company goals and regional demands.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners in the region.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Understand customer requirements and translate them into actionable engineering solutions.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.
- Business Development:
- Work closely with the business development team to identify new opportunities and contribute to the proposal development process.
- Leverage technical expertise to develop innovative solutions that meet customer needs and market demands.
- Represent SAIC at industry conferences, trade shows, and other networking events to promote our capabilities and services.
- Mentoring and Professional Development:
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance their technical skills and professional growth.
- Provide regular feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and support career development initiatives.
- Create and implement training programs to ensure the team stays current with emerging technologies and best practices.
- Strategic Growth Initiatives:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute growth strategies for the engineering department.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to keep SAIC at the forefront of innovation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong background in software development, systems engineering, and project management. Proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading and managing technical teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Business Acumen: Experience in business development, customer relationship management, and strategic planning.
- Regional Knowledge: Familiarity with the INDOPACOM region and understanding of its unique challenges and opportunities.
- Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI
Additional Information:
- This position may require travel within the INDOPACOM region and to other locations as necessary.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and willing to relocate to Hawaii if not currently based there.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
