SAIC is seeking a Digital Systems Engineer to fill a critical position on the SAIC Prime Program Landmark AOS in Chantilly, VA. Landmark AOS is a large SETA program supporting the NRO Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED), responsible for the acquisition of systems over the complete end-to-end life cycle.
As a Digital Systems Engineer you will help identify and plan new capabilities to support mission operations. The Digital Systems Engineer should have expertise across the digital engineering spectrum including modeling, strategic planning, system integration and “system-of-systems" user-centric design.
Job duties to include:
- Provides technical leadership in applying Digital Engineering (DE) concepts, processes and tools to help the government plan and define capabilities needed to better support mission operations (e.g., architecture management, future architecture evolution, requirements management, thread management, etc.)
- Supports digital engineering strategy and governance development and implementation roadmap planning across contractor and government teams.
- Analyzes user needs, concept of operations, and high-level systems architectures to develop system requirements.
- Identifies and communicates system engineering risks, issues, opportunities, assumptions, mitigations, and dependencies.
- Provides technical support to government points of contact.
- Collaborates with SETA team members, development contractors, and in customer forums, particularly in the development of modeling methodologies, style guidance, and the application of DE to architecture and thread management.
- Effectively communicates and interfaces with engineers from various contractors and government organizations.
- Develops assessments and briefings for a variety of audiences, conveying system engineering concepts and decision logic concisely and accurately.
- Applies one or more common Enterprise Architecture (EA) frameworks, particularly UAF, as well as common architecture tools in developing and communicating the EA.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar STEM field and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Poly
- Experience with Digital Engineering and tools.
- Experience with systems development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevSecOps)
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Experience with CONOPS requirements development, interface control documentation, technical specification review, architecture development.
- Program lifecycle experience from concept development and design to deployment, operations, and maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Self-starter proactively addresses customer requirements with limited supervision; excels at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics.
- Ability to provide technical and programmatic recommendations on the development, integration, and use of digital engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts and structures.
- Polished communicator (written/verbal); impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), MS Outlook, MS Project, Confluence, Jira
- Familiarity with Architecture modeling tools, UAF, and SysML (proficiency strongly desired)
