SAIC is seeking qualified candidates to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program.

AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFAMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners. AFAMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand.

The role of this position is to support the Air National Guard with M&S Operational, Technical, and Innovative Support and the candidate will work out of Duluth, MN or Toledo, OH on a casual part-time basis (as needed). The Fighter Aircrew Simulator Operator will:

  • Instructor pilot (F-16, F-15, F-18, F-22, or comparable aircraft) or have been previously qualified as cockpit qualified.
  • Responsible for managing simulator console operations, scenario development, and scenario management.
  • Proficient with simulator hardware; basic troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products and with basic Combat Air Force mission planning processes, tools, and standards.
  • Manage scenario utilizing F-16 mission sets to include (but not limited to): AI, CAS, FAC-A, SEAD, DCA, OCA, SCAR, and ACA. 
  • Multi-Tier Simulator Support SMEs: Tier 1-F-16 Flight Examiner /Instructor Pilot, Tier 2-current and qualified F-16 Instructor Pilot, Tier 3 F-16 Flight Lead, Tier 4 previous fighter experience.

Qualifications

The following skills are required:

  • Fighter Pilot with five hundred (500) hours air-to-air and air-to-ground flight experience as an Instructor pilot (F-16, F-15, F-18, F-22, or comparable aircraft) or have been previously qualified as a cockpit qualified.
  • Bachelors and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen, currently possess a a Secret security clearance is required and ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI and SAP eligibility

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
