SAIC's Corporate Security Team is looking for an Associate ISSO supporting our team in Arlington, Virginia. The Associate Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) will have responsibility for supporting the implementation of information systems security tasks, as required for the safeguarding, handling, and controlling of classified information. The Associate ISSO will assist with systems security, testing, and accreditation activities in support of a variety of stand-alone, proposal and networked systems. 

 

Primary Duties:

  • Assist in the maintenance of the day-to-day security posture and continuous monitoring of Information Systems (IS) including conducting security event log review and analysis, account management, media protection, etc.
  • Ensure system security measures comply with applicable government policies.
  • Perform initial and annual general/privileged user training and associated functions.
  • Provide configuration management support in assessing the impact of modifications and vulnerabilities for each system.
  • Draft and/or prepare and maintain security Assessment and Authorization documentation (e.g., IA SOP, SSP, RAR, SCTM).
  • Support higher level ISSOs and ISSMs with daily requirements while being mentored.

Qualifications

Required Education & Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Current/active professional certification that complies with DoD 8570 IAM Level I requirements. Security+ certification is a minimum with the ability to obtain an IAM level II.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 0-3 years of related experience. May accept additional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Client operating systems.
  • Familiarity with network and information system security principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with conducting research and analysis.
  • Professional and effective interpersonal skills and attire along with the ability to provide face-to-face customer support are required.

 

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of DoD / DCSA guidelines to include but not limited to the DCSA Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM).
  • Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and creating a RMF System Security Plan.
  • Experience with various information system security assessment/hardening tools – SCAP Compliance Checker, STIG Viewer, Nessus, Splunk, etc.
  • Highly self-directed and ability to learn quickly with a strong ability to drive and deliver results.
  • Comfort working with minimal daily supervision and ability to balance numerous priorities.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
