SAIC is seeking an INTELLIGENCE PLANNER/STRATEGIST.  

This position will provide systems engineering and technical advisory (SETA) services to a customer within the Intelligence Community (IC) in Chantilly, VA.  This customer is responsible for designing an enduring strategy for space systems and technological advances in space.  This position is an opportunity to apply your knowledge and expertise to strategy development, capabilities, upcoming technology, and the future of space to advance mission capabilities within National Space Programs.  You will execute strategy and implement change management to support an IC customer responsible for producing a holistic, robust strategy towards 2040.  These efforts will influence the national security and US presence in space for generations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and develop understanding of customer vision, goals, objectives, and priorities along with alignment to higher level National strategies
  • Lead customer optimization to ensure goals and objectives are being met; assist with creating metrics that measure progress towards achieving strategic goals
  • Support development of innovative methods to streamline process for developing current short-and-long term solutions related to strategy execution
  • Provide a construct for strategic analysis, informed decision making, coordination, and reporting of R&D Portfolio
  • Identify and develop technical capabilities for research, development, and transition; Develop recommendations for improving programs governing complex requirements to fill identified capability gaps
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and perspective around foreign space technology trends, commercial and academia space technology availability and benchmarks; assist team members in staying abreast of emerging customer needs and enduring priorities; work with team members to assess data trends and analyze performance
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams to get work done, drive recommendations through to implementation
  • Interact with outside organizations including, but not limited to, DoD, NASA, National Labs, and Universities to coordinate activities for maximum effect

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly
  • Undergraduate degree with 9+ years of experience or Graduate Degree with 7 years experience in engineering, or cyber related field
  • In depth knowledge of strategy design and execution, space technologies, change management, and portfolio management
  • Effective interpersonal skills and strong presentation, briefing, and writing skills; ability to express detailed technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent skills in MS Office applications and Portfolio Management tools

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • In-depth experience with systems engineering, systems integration, or requirements management for large, complex systems
  • Knowledge of leading edge technologies in space, including artificial intelligence
  • General knowledge of relevant systems in life cycle spanning conception, acquisition initiation, development, deployment, and operations
  • Experience with government acquisition processes
