SAIC is seeking a motivated Junior Systems Engineer to support development, testing, and maintenance of the Joint Network Design Aid (JNDA) software within the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) in Huntsville, AL. This Windows-based desktop application is used for designing Link-16 networks and generating critical output files. The selected candidate will work within an Agile Scrum team comprised of software, systems, and test engineers in a highly collaborative environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and document system requirements based on customer needs
- Define verification criteria and support requirement validation activities
- Manage requirements and associated documentation using Innoslate
- Contribute to an Agile Scrum team focused on iterative software delivery
- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure alignment of system functions
- Participate in reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- · Support testing activities and documentation related to system requirements
Qualifications
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field and zero (0) years of experience in systems engineering or software requirement development. An additional 6 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree (per contract vehicle).
Clearance Requirements:
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; US Citizenship required.
Required Skills:
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Innoslate or similar requirements management tools
- Exposure to Azure DevOps
- Experience in software testing
- Knowledge of Link-16 or tactical data link systems
