SAIC has an immediate need for a Machine Learning  - AI Engineer to support the Launched Effect (LE) Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) for the Aviation and Missile Command's Technology Development Directorate for Aviation (TDD-A) located in Huntsville, AL. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with a multi-disciplinary team, including scientists, product managers, academic experts and research teams, Systems Engineers, Software Engineers and development contractors in a fast-moving and high energy office environment
• Analyze solutions and advise on the development of tailored deep learning architectures, oversee and support system acquisitions, and contribute to integration, verification, and validation strategies and plans  
• Participate in technical exchange meetings, prepare and present technical papers, and oversee deployment and operations of the AI/ML system to disseminate results in conferences and stakeholders
• Work independently and as a member of a team to perform advanced research, monitoring industry trends and developments, to address critical mission requirements in the AI/ML, natural language understanding, machine perception and cyber-physical systems, using emerging technologies to invent machine learning algorithms, and complete delivery and implementation of the design

Qualifications

Required Education:

• BS degree and (9) nine years of professional experience; (6) years of experience in lieu of degree per the contract

Required Clearance:

• Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS eligibility 

Required Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience applying artificial intelligence and machine learning models, particularly in reinforcement learning, to real-world environments
• Strong background in at least two or more of the following areas:  
  • AI/ML algorithms
  • Computations/statistical learning theory
  • Scalable systems
  • Large scale data analysis
  • Optimization
  • Functional analysis and deep learning
