SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Agile Coach to directly support the modernization of the space launch ranges, meeting mission requirements, providing range capabilities, and supporting the Assured Access to Space (AATS) mission. The overarching purpose of this program is to perform system modernization and digital transformation projects that will enable the acceleration of the space launch cadence to enable the Spaceport of the future.  This position is located in Vandenberg, CA. 

Job Description:

  • Working together with Product Management, Technical leadership, and the Agile Teams to manage and optimize the flow of value through the Agile Release Train (ART).
  • Serve as the primary facilitator of ART level events and processes including Value Stream Mapping, Roadmap creation, Backlog management, Program Increment (PI) Planning, Product Owner Sync, Scrum of Scrums, PI Review, Demonstrations, Retrospectives, and Inspect and Adapt Workshops.
  • Ensure work is clearly defined at the Epic and Feature levels including clear Descriptions, Acceptance Criteria, and Mission Value statements.
  • Serve as an Agile coach for the ART, working with mission owners, stakeholders (including customers), Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Kanban leads, and Team members to ensure the processes and practices of the program align with the purposes and desired business and mission outcomes of Agile/DevSecOps principles.
  • Throughout each PI, oversee and assist with planning and tracking the execution of Features including dependency and risk management, escalation and tracking of impediments, and resource management prioritization.
  • Establish and track key ART level metrics and regularly communicate these metrics to program/technical leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  • Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
  • Improve the flow of value through Value Streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevSecOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
  • Facilitate Regular System Demos that show Acceptance Criteria has been met and are a vehicle for selling off Features with delivery of Objectives to Stakeholders.
  • Assess the agility level of the ART and drive relentless improvement including refresher training and skills path guidance aligned with the program and company's training opportunities.
  • Foster Communities of Practice (CoP) and the use of Engineering and Built-In Quality practices.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience. 

Desired Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent technical discipline and fourteen (14) years of systems integration and systems engineering related or equivalent experience. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated Program/Project Management and/or leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead multi-functional teams and lead multiple teams to communicate and coordinate work as one team with common goals.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement and common processes across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Broad experience of Systems Engineering life cycle process and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Space Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment, with space and/or ground systems (especially at SSC). 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of space systems design, integration and test requirements and test execution, including test equipment support.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting teams of Agile teams and managing/resolving dependencies in an Enterprise organization using SAFe, LeSS, DAD, Nexus, or similar scaled Agile framework.
  • Extensive experience working with Agile tools e.g. Jira, Agile Central (Rally), or Agility (VersionOne) as an Admin or Super User.
  • Comfortable imparting knowledge and leveraging experiences to guide leaders and Agile teams on common scaling principles, frameworks and patterns through coaching and education.
  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency within the ART and customers.
  • Industry recognized Agile certification (Scaled Agile, Scrum.org, Scrum, Inc., or Scrum Alliance).
  • Experience with DoD Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Agile programs.
  • Experience planning, estimating, and tracking Agile team throughput and performance.
  • Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings.
  • Experience developing business cases and measuring relevant outcomes.
  • Experience with large scale, complex space systems including familiarity with products, designs, program processes, subcontractor teams.
  • Systems Engineering experience. 

Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain.

Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
