SAIC is seeking a Drafter/CAD Operator to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position will provide drafting and documentation support for NSWC Crane. In this role you will support a team creating/updating Technical Data Package(s) using SolidWorks and CREO 3D parametric Software. Be able to understand, preform and be able to be trained quickly and efficiently to the processes and procedures that are required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates and modifies detailed models and drawings using SolidWorks and occasional other forms of CAD Software.
  • Works closely with the Engineers, Technicians, and other CAD Operators to capture design, revise existing documentation and attend drawing CCB meetings.
  • Works independently as well as in a collective team effort to effect changes to design and/or documentation.
  • Performs a variety of moderate and complex tasks and can use a variety of tools to include, but not limited to, Calipers, Gauges, Tape Measure, Ruler and other mechanical devices to aid in design development and verification/validation of first article pieces. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Associates Degree in related field with 3 to 5 years of related 3D parameteric software; Or, High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of related experience using 3D parametric software.
  • Experience with one or more; 3D parametric software or Solid Works
  • Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude with understanding of currently accepted manufacturing processes and ISO procedures.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to communicate complex ideas in a production floor environment.
  • Ability to quickly complete tasking independently and as a team member, with detailed or general instructions.
  • Understanding basic CAD operations and procedures associated to common Drawing Standards
  • Basic understanding of Dimensioning and Tolerancing of Technical Drawings and Data Packages
  • No clearance required to start however candidate must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.  SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of: (ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000)
  • Understanding of Military standards and specifications
