JOB DESCRIPTION: :  The role of Senior Air Controller is to ensure that the simulation provides the most realistic and dynamic training possible to the war-fighter participants; interact with the other components control cells to ensure simulation and scripting responses conform to scenario design; and provide design, control, and observations to AF and components controllers. The Senior Air Controller does not teach, train, advise, mentor, or recommend to senior military officers about how they ought to conduct their wartime functions or make wartime decisions. However, the Senior Air Controller does all that he/she can to provide the most accurate and realistic simulation environment possible that allows that training to occur. The Senior Air Controller will use the manipulation of the simulation and white cell tools available to him/her, and via troubleshooting and feedback, ensure that the event presents a consistent and synchronized air picture in the Korea Theater of Operations (KTO) for the USFK, his/her combined staff and USINDOPACOM and component training audiences. The Senior Air Controller may contribute feedback on performance by participants as part of normally established 7AF mechanism(s) [e.g., After Action Review, Lessons Learned, etc.] or as requested by Commander, 7AF. The Senior Air Controller will also work with the PASC to implement simulation improvements to correct known problem areas, and to enhance simulation realism

Qualifications

·       Experience as Senior Air Controller at the Brigadier General rank

·       Experience in modeling and simulation

·       Knowledge and experience in theater warfighting, Numbered Air Force organization, roles, and responsibilities, and AFFOR and AOC systems, processes, procedures, and operations

·       JFACC experience and expertise in the command and control of U.S. and coalition air operations

·       Recent (within one year) working knowledge of war plans of USINDOPACOM

·       Recent (within two years) experience with the real-time operational control of a large-scale (OPLAN-size) computer-assisted event

US Citizen and active Secret Clearance

Bachelor's and 18 or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree


Target salary range: $280,001 - $320,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
