To address the growing demands within the Department of Defense, SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Data/Integration Engineer to provide support for Data & AI Infrastructure Management of our Digital and AI Team as we embark on a large initiative to lead the design and operate integrated Enterprise IT solutions that deliver AI-enabled capabilities and enable data-driven decision making to missions across the Department, Services, and Combatant Commands. 

 

The Ideal candidate will be adept at managing customer relationships, driving operational excellence, and fostering continuous improvement across all service areas. 

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage automated solutions for data ingress and egress from the Advana platform and other data platforms using enterprise application program interfaces (APIs).
  • Design, build, operate, and maintain data and AI model connections for the Advana System across all Advana CSP/Security Environments.
  • Support the establishment of automated data connections across the Advana Operating Environment for government-directed use cases.
  • Maintain existing standard data connection methods, both inbound and outbound, across the Advana Operating Environment.
  • Develop and maintain a training and certification program for data connection engineers to grant access and enable data sharing across DoD systems and enterprise platforms.
  • Evolve, support, and enforce processes and standards for data acquisition and data sharing to and from the Advana platform, including facilitating technical exchange meetings, competing data sharing agreements, developing data connections, supporting data pipeline development, and monitoring existing data connections.
  • Develop, test, and deploy new connection methods, including streaming and multi-cloud, based on CDAO use case needs to enable the sharing of data and AI/ML models between the Advana System and other DoD systems.
  • Mature Advana's enterprise data and AI API program operations and capabilities across all Advana CSP/Security Environments to facilitate its adoption as the DoD's primary method for sharing and leveraging data and AI/ML models.
  • Design, plan, and provide AI/ML operations and services to support Advana customer AI/ML activities across all Advana CSP/Security Environments.
  • Enable the rapid integration and sharing of AI/ML across Advana-supported DoD domains.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Security+ Certification
  • Extensive experience in managing automated solutions for data ingress and egress using enterprise application program interfaces (APIs).
  • Proven expertise in designing, building, operating, and maintaining data and AI model connections in cloud environments.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their security environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining automated data connections for large-scale operating environments.
  • Proficiency in maintaining standard data connection methods, both inbound and outbound.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining training and certification programs for technical personnel.
  • Knowledge of processes and standards for data acquisition, sharing, and integration.
  • Ability to facilitate technical exchange meetings and manage data sharing agreements.
  • Strong skills in developing data connections and supporting data pipeline development.
  • Ability to monitor and proactively address issues with data connections.
  • Experience in developing, testing, and deploying new connection methods, including streaming and multi-cloud.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data and AI API program operations and capabilities.
  • Experience in planning and providing AI/ML operations and services.
  • Ability to enable the integration and sharing of AI/ML across multiple domains.
  • US citizenship and active TS/SCI with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI w/CI Poly security clearance is required. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent.
  • Additional certifications in data management and integration (e.g., CDMP, TOGAF, ITIL).
  • Experience with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) standards and other military-specific frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Zero Trust architecture principles and implementation.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI model development, deployment, and operations.
  • Proven experience with DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Prior experience working on large-scale DoD IT and data initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and regulations such as NIST SP 800-53, RMF, and FISMA.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining templates, style guides, and standardized documentation practices.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participation in professional organizations and staying current with industry trends and best practices.
  • AWS AI Practitioner Certification
  • AWS Data Practitioner Certification
