SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Senior DevOps Cloud Engineer and RHEL Specialist to join our CloudOne team on the Government A1 Enclave by CloudOne project. The Air Force A1 Enclave by Cloud One Program is an existing global, interconnected, virtualized hybrid, and IT infrastructure that hosts mission systems, applications, services, and data in support of DoD Services and Agencies. This position is 100% remote.
This candidate will be part of a team working with Government Stakeholders responsible for the dedicated Splunk Engineer design, planning, management, support, and oversight of the A1 Enclave CloudOne Infrastructure. The A1 Enclave team will configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems to proactively identify and resolve operational, tooling and process inefficiencies.
On-Call after hours support may be required for critical systems. The candidate will collaborate with the customer to determine root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and provide principal level leadership.
- Support IaaS environments with RHEL systems engineering, administration, and maintenance.
- Utilize AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS) and manage AWS IAM.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for software development and deployment.
- Automate tasks to improve software delivery efficiency and reliability.
- Troubleshoot issues with Linux servers and CI/CD tools.
- Maintain and document Linux servers in production and development environments.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and quality assurance teams.
- Ensure CI/CD processes align with industry best practices and security standards.
- Provide training on CI/CD best practices and tools.
Qualifications
Required Clearance:
- Active Interim Secret clearance to start; Ability to obtain a Secret clearance required to maintain employment.
- US Citizenship required.
Required Certifications:
- Security + or higher certification
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, and nine (9) years of experience; Master's and seven (7) years of experience. Additional years of experience may substitute in lieu of degree.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years in a CI/CD or DevOps role.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Atlassian Suite, GitLab CI, Aqua Security).
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Extensive Kubernetes and containerization experience.
- Advanced system management, security, and troubleshooting in RHEL environments.
- Experience with AWS Cloud platforms and their CI/CD services.
- Advanced networking skills (VPNs, routing, firewalls).
- Experience with Ansible automation.
Desired Qualifications/Certifications:
- RHCSA, RHCE, AWS Associate Certifications
- CKA, CKAD, other Kubernetes Certifications
- SAFe DevOps certification.
- Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Cloud Formation).
- Knowledge of security best practices in CI/CD.
Expectations:
- In-depth Kubernetes expertise, strong Red Hat skills, and proficient cloud Dev/Sec/Ops capabilities.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
