SAIC is seeking a Solution Architect to join our team in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. 

The Data Solution Architect will support the Army Long Range Precision Fires (LRPF) Cross Functional Team at Ft. Sill, OK. LRPF leads the transformation of Field Artillery cannon, rocket, and missile systems along with associated command and control capabilities for the Army. This high-performing individual must be knowledgeable about digital transformation and eager to make a difference in Army modernization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Data Solutions Architect in support of a General Officer's staff providing professional expertise in performance of work requiring strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources
  • Support the transition of legacy solutions to cloud-based, IaaS / PaaS architectures with secure, cloud-edge technologies to deliver next generation adaptability and speed with high levels of confidentiality, integrity, and availability
  • Know and understand current methods for tactical command and control (C2) system employment by echelon to apply digital solutions for improvement of C2, apply that knowledge for Fires C2 transformation
  • Work to integrate the data required for Offensive and Defensive Fires which allows increased speed and options for Commanders
  • Recommend additions or modifications to existing hardware, software, and data architecture to support Army Fires and Joint Fires missions in a manner that integrates with combined and joint C2 systems
  • Evaluating multiple emerging technologies against each and provide recommendations to the Director for the “most complete” solution and the scope of work to meet capability requirements
  • Work with Program Offices in the design and development of new applications, GOTS/COTS products and infrastructure, integrating new solutions on existing applications and in Cloud environments
  • Ensure the software solutions being developed adhere to applicable, standard message formats and Unified Data Reference Architecture (UDRA) by communicating alignment to these standards to the CFT leadership
  • Analyze complex IT development needs, apply logic, and identify solutions to include potential new tools, technologies, and recommendations
  • Effectively communicate highly technical concepts and plans to staff/team members and to operational soldiers

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and zero (0) years related experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree

Qualifications:

  • Certified, from an independent body, expertise in cybersecurity and cloud computing, e.g. CompTIA Security+ equivalent and Cloud+ certification
  • A working knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Department of Defense (DOD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes
  • Demonstrable experience in producing artifacts supporting Department of DOD RMF processes, cybersecurity, cloud edge computing, virtualization, containerization, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Experience working in a Development Operations (DevOps) or Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and Agile environments using code delivery mechanisms, continuous build systems, code repositories, and continuous delivery solutions

Experience in a variety of tools, technologies, and approaches:

  • Experience working in a Development Operations (DevOps) or Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and Agile environments using code delivery mechanisms, continuous build systems, code repositories, and continuous delivery solutions
  • Demonstrable experience in producing artifacts supporting Department of DOD RMF processes, cybersecurity, cloud edge computing, virtualization, containerization, and service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • Experience working in a Development Operations (DevOps) or Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and Agile environments using code delivery mechanisms, continuous build systems, code repositories, and continuous delivery solutions
  • Experience with unstructured data architectures
  • Java, JSP (HTML/XML), JSON
  • Containers:  specifically Kubernetes and Docker
  • A variety of SQL database platforms
  • A variety of Operating Environments: Cloud-Native Windows Linux  RedHat RHEL 8
  • A variety of Agile Development environments and repositories: Jira, GitLab, GitHub
  • Microservices and APIs: Java with Spring Boot and Spring Batch, webMethods, Istio, JBoss
  • Cloud Services: AWS, Azure, GovCloud, EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS 
  • Cloud Edge Computing Environments and Services: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, cArmy, GovCloud, EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS 
  • Knowledge of / Experience with key Cyber Security concepts: DISA Security Technical Information Guides (STIGs), OWASP Top 10 Vulnerabilities, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) with Splunk or another SIEM

Clearance:

Candidate must have an active Secret clearance.
