SAIC is seeking a SW Engineer Supervisor to support the Navy Education and Training Command N6 and related systems at NETC.

This effort will provide related services for IT Cyber, engineering sustainment activities and Agile SCRUM software development for multiple programs of record and IT initiatives related to Ready Relevant Learning (RRL), the Navy Learning Stack, and other initiatives supported by NETC N6 CIO. 

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software. Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting. End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs. Ensures software standards are met. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee). 

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT: Directly supervises individual contributors (skilled technicians, administrative support) and/or entry-level professionals (accountants, entry-level engineers) SCOPE: Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees. Recommends changes to unit or sub-unit policies. Management reviews work to measure meeting of objectives.

PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Administers and executes policies, processes, and procedures that affect subordinate employees and the workflow of the work unit. Leads daily operations of work unit. 

FREEDOM TO ACT: Assignments are task or activity oriented. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall quality and efficiency.

IMPACT: Decisions impact work unit operations. Erroneous decisions, recommendations, or failure to achieve results might cause delays in schedules and require the allocation of more people and financial resources.

LIAISON: Interacts internally primarily with subordinates and other supervisors. External interactions is typically with suppliers, vendors and/or customers. Primary purpose of liaison is information sharing and basic problem resolution.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree and five (5) years experience.  Additional experience in lieu of degree may be required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) IAT I & IAT II requirements if required by contract

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
