SAIC is searching for a Systems Administrator to support one of the foundational networks in the Joint Expeditionary Command and Control (JEXC2) family of systems.JEXC2 systems are made up of various command, control, communications, computers and intelligence subsystems and networks, including associated infrastructure and communications equipment. The program is aimed at supporting the military's bid to achieve a Joint All-Domain Command and Control capability, which is the concept of connecting sensors across all domains, including space and cyberspace, into a single network.
Work will be performed onsite in Panama City Beach, FL.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Linux-based systems (RHEL) including system updates, patch management, and performance tuning.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of the systems
- Manage and maintain virtualized environments using VMware vSphere and Microsoft HyperV.
- Deploy, configure, and optimize virtual machines, ensuring efficient resource utilization and stability.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, and Powershell to streamline system administration tasks.
- Utilize automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Packer to automate infrastructure deployment and configuration.
- Work within DoD-based environments, ensuring systems comply with security standards such as STIGs, ACAS, and SRGs.
- Regularly review and update security configurations to protect systems against vulnerabilities and threats.
- Configure and manage container-based technologies (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes) to support application deployment and scalability.
- Use text-based configuration files (JSON, YAML) to configure services and manage application environments.
Qualifications
Bachelor and 2 years of experience is required; a minimum 5 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
An Interim Secret clearance must be obtained or currently active in order to begin work on this program.
Must have experience in the following:·
- Linux-based systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, etc)
- Virtualized systems (VMware vSphere, Microsoft HyperV, etc)
- Deploying/configuring/maintaining virtual machines
- Using command line interfaces (CLIs) and tools, examining log files, etc
- Configuring services via text config files (JSON, YAML, etc)
- Scripting (bash, python, Powershell)· Working in DoD-based environment, familiar with standard tools like STIGs, ACAS, SRGs, etc
- Container based technologies (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Packer)
