SAIC is looking for a member to serve as System Administrator in Washington, DC for a classified network for a major DOD enterprise network node.
Actively monitors operational condition of all systems hardware, software and firmware. Performs system security operations and maintenance functions. Resolves complex system level issues, associated with DISA ACAS, ESS, system of system and other functions. Ensures that all systems operate in normal working condition. Prepares and provisions new hardware and software for application deployment and technology refresh. Experience with multiple computer operating systems such as MS Windows (11, Server 2022). Major duties include vulnerability and compliance remediation, management of Windows patches, and ensure Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance. Candidate will be required to maintain several servers and Virtual Machines including Domain Controllers, WSUS, Backup, and File Servers within a Hyper-V environment. Candidate will also perform several sysadmin functions such as manage account access via Active Directory, edit Domain Group Policy, and monitor system health.

Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
Maintains the integrity and security of Windows servers and systems.
Sets up administrator and service accounts
Maintains system documentation
Interacts with users and assists with evaluation of vendor products
Coordinates installation and provides backup recovery
Supports development of policies and standards for related to the use of computing resources
Develops and implements testing strategies and documents results
Provides advice and training to end-users
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree and 3+ years of experience in systems administration and analysis. 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Previous Experience with DoD Cyber Security Programs (Cyber Assurance, Risk Management Framework, eMASS, End Point Security)
- Candidate must have DoDD 8570.01 IAT level 1 certification. Security + or greater certification required.
- Expertise in System Administration (Windows); Active Directory, Group Policy, Virtualization (HyperV) experience.
Must be able to work complex efforts independently with minimal supervision in a small team setting.
- Candidate must have ability to obtain DOD Top Secret level security clearance (when required)
Desired certifications:
- Windows System Administration Experience (Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy) | Certification highly desired.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) of the below variety:
- MCSA: Windows Server 2016
- MCSA: Windows Server 2012
- MCSA: Windows Server 2008
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
- Cisco Experience (ASA Firewalls, Routers, Switches)
- DNS Server (Microsoft, BIND)
- CompTIA Network +, Network + ce
- Virtual Machine (VM) Experience, HyperV preferred, VMWare acceptable
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
