SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Systems Administrator to join our team of professionals providing technical and program services to the U.S. Government (USG). SAIC provides research, engineering, design, analysis, acquisition, development, integration, test, and operations support to USG Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support development and delivery of next generation and generation after next national security systems based on land, at sea, in air, and in space.

The Systems Administrator will be part of a small team responsible for managing all facets of a customer on-premise network in addition to managing the cybersecurity posture. This individual will manage Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities to include security scanning, reporting and remediation. The Systems Administrator will also help manage a large inventory of VMware ESXi blade servers, HP storage, Cisco switches, Windows and Linux servers, and high-powered GPU workstations. 

The primary functions of the candidate will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage RMF activities for on-premise and cloud assets:

    • Prepare and maintain security documentation, including system security plans (SSPs)

    • Prepare documentation and work with security to apply for and maintain the network's Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditation

    • Capture Body of Evidence (BoE) artifacts to meet security Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) and Allocated Control requirements

    • Respond to Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) liens and perform Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) activities

    • Conduct regular vulnerability and compliance security scans using Tenable Nessus and mitigate findings

    • Prepare and send remediation reports to security

  • Provide O&M for the virtualized environments (VMware vCenter, to include ESXi and distributed switches)

  • Provision hardware, storage, resources and configuration/administration, including high-availability and failover services

  • Provide configuration management to include authoring technical documentation, process changes, and inventory control 

  • Research and obtain quotes for hardware/software based on customer requirements

  • Provide superior customer service

Qualifications

  • Must possess current TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
  • Must be DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant (have current CompTIA, Security+ certification or higher)
  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience
  • Experience with MS Windows Server 2019/2016 (focus on Active Directory, Group Policy) and VMware management
  • Hands on experience creating and updating RMF documentation, responding to POA&Ms, and performing Continuous Monitoring activities
  • Ability to interpret vulnerability, risk, and security assessment of hardware and software
  • Knowledge in basic networking technologies (switches, routers, VLANs)
  • Possess strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills in a dynamic customer-centric environment
