SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support our Department of War (DoW) contracts at Crane NSWC, IN. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) processes and in-depth knowledge of the ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispensing System. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver complex systems engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
SETR Process Execution:
- Lead and manage SETR processes including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PRR, etc.
- Develop and review technical documentation, including requirements specifications, design documents, test plans, and reports.
Ensure compliance with DoD and industry standards and best practices in systems engineering.
ALE-47 Integration and Support:
- Provide subject matter expertise for the ALE-47 system, including integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Conduct system-level analyses and provide recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
Technical Leadership:
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and oversight.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Represent the company in technical meetings, working groups, and design reviews

Project Management Support:
- Assist in the development of project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Support risk management activities and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Contribute to proposal development and provide technical inputs for new business opportunities.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience.
- Minimum of [7] years of relevant experience in systems engineering, preferably within the defense sector.
SETR Expertise:
- Proven experience in leading and managing SETR processes.
ALE-47 Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of the ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispensing System, including its operation, integration, and testing.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in using systems engineering tools and software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Security Clearance:
- Active DoD Secret clearance required; Top Secret clearance preferred.
Work Environment:
- This position may require occasional travel to client sites and field test locations.
- Ability to work on-site at NSWC Crane.
