SAIC is currently hiring a Technical Writer at Camp Pendleton, CA

Travel within CONUS and OCONUS may be required 10% of the time. The contractor falls under the purview of the Commanding Officer, AA Center of Excellence (CoE), or as directed by the CO. This position is located at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, CA.

Job Duties:

  • Provide doctrine development support and oversight for crucial doctrinal USMC publications by researching, analyzing, defining, evaluating, and integrating Fleet Marine Force (FMF) and Supporting Establishment (SE) Subject Matter Expert (SME) input.  Doctrine development documentation products and deliverables include integration and the refinement of Assault Amphibian (AA) doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). 
  • Serve as the lead developer, writer, and editor for the Assault Amphibian Training and Operating Standardization (AATOPS). 
  • Evaluate combined, joint, multi-service, multinational, USMC, Naval, Infantry, AA doctrine, TTPs for the validation, modification, and development of new doctrinal products.  Plan, coordinate, review, and evaluate doctrinal publications developed by other services and Government agencies. 
  • Coordinate other military and Government personnel and support all aspects of the doctrine development process. 
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the USMC AA roles, missions, capabilities, organizations, command and control, employment, and sustainment to analyze, validate, modify, write, and edit new or existing doctrine products.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree and six (6) years of experience (4 years of additional experience accepted in lieu of degree).  

Required Security Clearance:

  • Must possess an Active SECRET clearance (US Citizenship required).

Required Skills:

  • Must display a high level of skill in English composition and presenting advanced subject matter theories and concepts. 
  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as training manuals and regulations.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to document training specifications and correspondence. 
  • Experience and knowledge of USMC documentation process, capability development process or requirements determination process.

 


Target salary range: $95,001 - $105,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
