SAIC is seeking a Engineering Test Engineer specialized in Remus and Waveglider SV3 operations and Boat Operations support test events in the open ocean for the US Navy Autonomous Systems.
This role is onsite in San Diego, CA. Must be local.
JOB DUTIES:
Perform boat operations test event efforts on inland or coastal waters.
Support boat mission operations as required.
Operating/Testing the Remus 600 using the PCX operating system.
Operating/Testing the Waveglider SV3 with various custom payloads
Development of test documentation for Remus 600s and Waveglider SV3 testing.
Compiling test data as required.
Ensure the unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) equipment is in working order.
Communicating with other vessels via radio and other means during boat operations.
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the UUV's as required.
Carry out navigational tasks as required.
Able to work beyond an (10) hour workday as required.
Other duties as assigned by the customer.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor Degree and five (5) years of open water boat operations experience supporting unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) equipment
Bachelor Degree and five (5) years of open water boat operations experience supporting unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) equipment
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start
Experience with advanced boat operations techniques and handling.
Able to work on boat in the open ocean for a minimum of 8 hours a day.
Familiar with general electronics equipment including multimeters and hand tools.
Experience with boat launch and recovery.
Experience operating/Testing Remus 600s using the PCX operating system.
Experience operating/Testing Waveglider SV3s with various custom payloads
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
