SAIC is seeking a multiple levels of Vehicle Integration Technician's for our customer site in Charleston, SC to support the US Navy to complete vehicle integration tasks to include cable routing, metal work installations, and technical support to integrate, install, modify, and perform upgrades in support of C5ISR systems.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Perform moderate to complex vehicle integration tasks to include cable routing, metal work installations, and technical support to integrate, install, modify, and perform upgrades in support of C5ISR systems
  • Read and follow integration documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, drawings and diagrams, layouts, and plans often requiring interpretation
  • Provide occasional assistance to related support areas, including but not limited to kitting and warehouse operations

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Level 2 Requirements:
    • Associates Degree in related field, OR formal electronics training from: Technical School OR Class A or B military school in electronics or communications
    • Three (3)+ years of experience within laboratory testing, manufacturing, or maintenance
  • Level 3 Requirements:
    • Associates Degree in related field, OR formal electronics training from: Technical School OR Class A or B military school in electronics or communications
    • Ten (10)+ years of experience within maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair of digital computers, computer peripheral/interface, equipment, VME based systems, digital switches, radio frequency transmitters, receivers, antennas, and modems
    • Must have four (4) years of the last eight (8) years of C4ISR or C5ISR experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be able to lift, pull, push and carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis
  • Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, sit, stand or squat for extended periods
  • Must be able to walk distances of at least one-half mile daily
  • Must be able to repeatedly manipulate and handle objects needed for cable fabrication, including reaching, grasping, twisting, turning and operating equipment and tools
  • Must be able to move and arrange heavy cable supplies and electronic equipment
  • Must be able to handle and use tools needed for installing electronics and metal work into vehicles.  Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is required

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust; SAIC will help to obtain; Active DoD Clearance accepted
  • Must be a current US Citizen
