Position Summary:The Crewing Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of crewing for the Company's offshore fleet. This includes recruitment, selection, scheduling, compliance with regulatory requirements, and development of seagoing personnel. The Crewing Manager works closely with vessel Masters, Port Engineers, and other department heads to ensure vessels are staffed with qualified mariners, in alignment with operational needs and company objectives. The Crewing Manager is also responsible for controlling & maintaining all mariner and vessel documentation. Responsibilities / Job Duties: Manage crew scheduling and rotations across all assigned vessels Recruit, screen, and hire qualified mariners Coordinate training, licensing, and credential compliance for all seagoing personnel; maintain accurate records of expirations and renewals. Serve as primary point of contact for all crewing matters Support Masters and Port Engineers with crew-related issues, including performance management, promotions, and disciplinary matters. Maintain familiarity with Safety Management System (SMS) requirements and ensure compliance across all crewing functions. Develop succession planning and career progression pathways for mariners. Administer and maintain document control systems related to crew members and vessel certificates, ensuring all documentation remains accurate and up to date. Utilize multiple software platforms and databases to track licensing, medical certificates, endorsements, and vessel documentation. Prepare and issue sea time letters for current and former employees as required. Coordinate and schedule random and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing in compliance with USCG regulations and company policy. Perform additional administrative or operational duties as assigned. Requirements / Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Human Resources, or related field (preferred) Minimum five years of experience in crewing, operations, or vessel management (offshore or towing sector preferred) Strong knowledge of STCW & USCG licensing/endorsement requirements Demonstrated experience managing document control systems and ensuring compliance with regulatory recordkeeping requirements Proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with ABS Nautical Systems, NS5, or similar software preferred Excellent organizational and communication skills with ability to manage multiple priorities Must be eligible to work in the United States and hold or obtain a TWIC card Education / Experience: Prior experience in marine operations, HR, or crewing management required Familiarity with Jones Act, U.S. Flag operations, and offshore towing sector strongly preferred Physical Requirements: Able to travel domestically Normal office environment with occasional visits to terminals & vessels requiring climbing ladders and walking in industrial areas
