Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Plan rework & sort operations, establish priorities, and monitor progress to meet plant and customer needs.  

  • Perform rework and sort operations as needed. Act as a resource and follow up with partners doing rework activities. 

  • Resolve and communicate rework inventory issues and coordinate shipping between the plant and Third-Party Warehouse. Examine rework processes to maximize our efficiency at the lowest cost. 

  • Must learn basic operations of all equipment and be able to help partners when needed.  Further inspect machines, equipment, and personnel to ensure optimum utilization. 

  • Compile, store, retrieve, and monitor rework data to maximize efficiency. 

  • Conduct training activities and ensure proper training paperwork is completed. 

  • Ensure partner accountability and provide daily communication of essential information. 

  • Must encourage teamwork and compliance with plant policies and procedures. 

  • Utilize Process Excellence tools to improve plant performance and complete specific projects as directed. 

  • Communicate facilities work requests as needed to QA Manager and Materials Manager. 

  • Must ensure confidentiality when dealing with partners. 

  • Ensure prompt response and communication with other leaders. 

  • Reconcile partners hours worked in coordination with Finance Technician, staffing agency, QA Manager, Materials Manager, and HR Manager. 

  • Transport material between plant and Third-Party Warehouse. 

  • Must be Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certified and show proficiency operating a forklift and pallet jack. 

  • Back up QA Specialist as needed. 

  • Other duties as assigned by Quality Assurance Manager and Materials Manager. 

Other Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Troubleshoot issues or concerns with management. 

  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and good housekeeping guidelines. 

  • This position requires the ability to work with dairy and nut products in addition to other related ingredients and allergens. 

  • This position requires working weekends and off-shifts as needed. 

  • Safety Protocol 

  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures. 

  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards. 

  • Support safety policies and programs.

Qualifications: 

Education: 

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.  

  • Associate degree or coursework in Food Science, Business, or Industrial Psychology preferred. 

  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience and/or equivalent in a position requiring confidentiality and demonstrated leadership experience. 

  • Tetra Pak Package Integrity Certification required. 

Skills Required: 

  • Proficient Personal Computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word. Testing (Wonderlic, MS Word, Excel) will be required with Guidelines used from the Office Technical and Hourly Leader Job Family. Resume Required. The Rework Coordinator will be selected based on Testing, Qualifications based on Minimum Requirements, and a Targeted Selection Interview Process. 

  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform essential and non-essential tasks related to the job. Successful partners must follow and maintain Preventative Control Plans, Critical Control Points, and Safety Procedures.  

  • Successful Partners must follow and sustain process improvements, Food Safety, Partner Safety, and Food Quality. Must maintain absenteeism below 10 attendance points. 

  • Must be able to cover day shifts as needed. Must be able to attend meetings and special projects during off-shift and weekend hours.

  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret and prepare general business reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, partners, and others. 

  • Understanding of basic plant processes and willingness to work on the production floor to better learn and become familiar with all production processes. 

  • Must be adaptable, dependable, goal-oriented, hardworking, able to manage multiple priorities, and willing to work as needed. 

  • Must be self-motivated, driven, and self-initiated with a proven track record of excellent organizational and multitasking skills to meet deadlines. 

  • Ability to extract, analyze, and act on information with limited supervisory input. 

  • Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; acts with customers in mind. 

  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and working to maintain constructive working relationships.
