THE OPPORTUNITY:

The HR & Recruiting Coordinator will support the HR and staff recruiting functions for Seyfarth Shaw's assigned office(s). In this role, you will operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and act as a point of contact for all employees on process and procedures, and guidance on all aspects of the employee life cycle. Responsibilities include assistance with recruitment and onboarding processes and HR data, payroll procedures, and training for staff. This role will also coordinate both staff and legal recruiting for the assigned offices.

  THE DAY-TO-DAY: As the HR & Recruiting Coordinator, you will:
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager and the Regional Staff Recruiting Manager
  • Assist with new hire orientation, onboarding, I-9 verifications and staff integration process
  • Complete termination paperwork, assist with exit interviews, response data entry, and reporting
  • Process personnel action forms and unemployment claims
  • Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests
  • Assist HR Manager with the annual evaluation process and ad-hoc projects
  • Collaborate with partners, local leads, hiring manager and  Recruiting Managers to implement search strategy that aligns with the Firm's vision to promote diversity, collaboration, and innovation
  • Execute sourcing plan and identify new and creative referral sources
  • Timely track and review applications for attorney and staff positions and recommend qualified candidates for interview
  • Schedule interviews with candidates, gather interview feedback, and prepare summary of interview evaluations
  • Maintain an updated recruiting database and prepare regular reports on the status of open requisitions and pending candidates
  • Create a unique and rewarding experience for Summer Associates by providing hands-on experience, personalized mentoring, and engaging social activities
  • Prepare correspondence in response to employment inquiries, including interview invitations, offer letters, rejection letters, etc.
  • Facilitate candidate paperwork and due diligence, including, resume, conflicts, verifying bar admissions & standing with appropriate state/agency, references, background check, references, and other appropriate documentation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  YOU HAVE:
  • Working knowledge of viDesktop and Workday
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and technical skills
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or human resources is preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in HR and/or recruiting experience within law firms or professional services
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal employment law and EEO guidelines
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters and respond effectively to such situations
