The Assistant Production Manager II aids in planning, organizing, and executing special projects, and supports leadership needs in all departments to enable production to continue effective and efficient processing during staff time off, ensuring timely delivery of materials to service our customers On Time.

Key responsibilities for the Assistant Production Manager II:
- Lead production teams, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively, managing to defined processes, identifying and addressing potential problems and bottlenecks in those processes.
- Serve as primary back-up for all Leads across all production departments, including Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse, Finishing, Pit Crew, and Pressroom, based on planned PTO.
- Lead Projects that are necessary to support core functions and address process variance, missed metrics and financial outcomes.
- Create and maintain strong relationships and communication with internal customers, such as Procurement, Job Planning, Customer Service, Sales, and Operational Excellence.
- Ensure that all production activities comply with relevant regulations for quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate:
- Proven experience and deep knowledge of all flexographic print production operations.
- Strong leadership including the ability to mentor, guide, motivate and train a diverse team.
- Successful decision-making and results-driven approach.
- Effective project management skills and ability to manage time working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Clear communication and collaboration, both verbally and in writing, with attention to detail.
- Prompt and thorough response to the inquiries of internal and external customers.
- Understanding of ISO/BRC quality standards and procedures along with health and safety regulations.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Required: 3 plus years in flexographic print manufacturing role with a large team.
- Required: Flexibility with schedule to fill in as needed.
- Preferred: Experience with Lean Manufacturing and ISO/BRC quality practices and audits.
- Preferred: Associate or bachelor's degree in business management, Business Administration
