We are seeking a positive and motivated individual to join our Press Operations team as a Press Lead supporting our Minneapolis facility. Every day we bring our customers' labels and packaging to life, creating a customer experience that is second to none, and enabling them to stand out over the competition. Imagine walking through stores and seeing our labels on your favorite products and brands!

Three 12.25-hour shifts (36.75 hours), from 5am-5:15pm -OR- 5pm-5:15am

Overtime after 40 hours a week; at least one OT shift available per month

Key Responsibilities for Press Lead include: 

  • Providing leadership for meeting specifications in product quality, safety, team building, continuous improvement, and effective use of machines - operationally and mechanically 
  • Working in a team environment where you will collaborate to fulfill the needs of our Press team and will assist Smyth in creating and delivering top-quality projects for our customers
  • Offering leadership in areas of Lean Manufacturing, KAIZEN, ISO quality systems, innovation, and current systems technology 
  • Supporting and contributing to an innovative culture, striving to create and develop new products for our customers

The ideal candidate must demonstrate:

  • Ability to think through mechanical aspects of equipment operations and decision-making
  • Effective time management on multiple long- and short-term projects, meeting all related deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills to effectively work with a diverse group/variety of people and personalities
  • High levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquires and needs of individuals, both internal and external to the organization
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of people inside and outside the organization

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Required: High School degree or equivalent
  • Required: Five or more years in printing experience; flexographic experience highly preferred, will consider wide web or offset experience 
  • Required: Mechanical aptitude
  • Preferred: Experience with Lean Manufacturing and ISO quality systems
