Location: Metro Treatment Unit (Adolescent detention center), Dorchester, MA

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week Tuesday-Saturday schedule

Pay rate:  $66,500-$68,000/annually

Qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree in a clinical discipline such as Social Work and/or Psychology; PhD in APA approved psychology programs also meet qualifications; or Master's level candidates who are eligible for as an LMHC in Massachusetts. Licensed candidates are preferred but not required
  • Candidates are preferred to have experience in working with adolescents and their families, conducting suicide risk assessments, and providing crisis stabilization and management

The Clinician

  • Works as part of an interdisciplinary team; planning and providing individually tailored treatment for DYS committed male-identified youth
  • Develops and implements treatment plans for a caseload of youth within a secure residential setting. Facilitates groups, namely Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Substance Use, and Violent Offender curriculum. Treatment includes individual sessions and family treatment sessions when applicable. This is a distinct opportunity to make a difference in the lives of youth
  • Will have clinical supervision and licensure supported 

 

 

 


The Metro Treatment Unit (MTU) is a Department of Youth Services (DYS) residential treatment program for adjudicated males between the ages of 14 and 21.  The clients' treatment focuses on helping them address behaviors which contributed to their involvement in the juvenile justice system. This is a chance to be a part of a team of clinical, residential, educational, and medical professionals, who all collaborate in order to provide a safe and stable treatment environment for youth. The overall goals of our program are to promote positive change in the youth in our care and custody while making communities safer by improving the life outcomes for these youth.
