Job Description

Deployment Engineer (SS&C Technologies, Inc., Windsor, CT): The Deployment Engineer will work with a dynamic team of system experts on Advent Software's suite of cloud services. Specific responsibilities include: Deploying and supporting SS&C Advent products APX and Moxy in SS&C Advent's hosted client environments (Advent Managed Services, or “AMS”), including application troubleshooting, upgrades, and patches. Assisting in testing and updating existing runbooks. Proactively looking to optimize workflows and automate repetitive tasks. Learning to install and configure Advent's proprietary applications. Collaborating with team members on client implementation and upgrade projects. Developing and following detailed project plans, schedules and related project documentation. Managing Windows Server 2012 /2016 /2019 /2022 system administration within a large-scale Enterprise environment, prioritizing system stability and security. Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive technical documentation repository, centralizing deployment procedures and system configurations to ensure efficiency and consistency. Demonstrating advanced technical proficiency by implementing scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell, Chef, and Jenkins to enhance system efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Providing top-tier technical support in a high-paced environment, resolving complex issues and ensuring uninterrupted system operation. Telecommuting permitted.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years of experience in a systems administration/engineering, or software deployment role.

Must have: 5 years of experience with Windows system administration in an Enterprise environment; 5 years of experience in complex problem analysis and hands-on creative solutions, designs, and implementations; 5 years of experience managing cloud environments utilizing Windows, Citrix and VMWare; 5 years of experience with technologies including Windows, Citrix XenApp , Active Directory, SQL Server, VMWare vSphere, Netapp, SolarWinds, Jenkins and Chef; Proven ability to communicate effectively both internally and with clients; Proven understanding in scripting and automation technologies (Chef, Jenkins, Shell Script); Proven ability to rapidly learn new technologies to implement and support a fast-paced environment; Technical expertise in PowerShell Scripting to automate tasks, Automation frameworks and Integration scripts with SQL server, Citrix XenApp, Active Directory etc.; Proven ability to create and follow runbooks; Detail oriented and results-driven self-starter with the ability to complete work independently within a collaborative environment; Proven ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, execute according to project schedules, provide operational support, and deliver results with a high level of quality; Understanding of Group policy objects and Technical expertise in managing Group Policies, troubleshooting policy related issues.
