We're looking for a curious and motivated graduate to join our Software Quality Assurance team in Basildon. This role is ideal for someone with a technical mindset and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions. You'll be embedded in a team of experienced professionals, gaining practical experience in testing and quality control as part of a fast-paced development environment.
You'll play a key role in the software development lifecycle, helping ensure our platforms meet the highest quality standards, and learning a broad range of skills in testing methodologies, development tools, and client-focused delivery.
What you'll be doing:
Writing and executing manual test cases across key applications
Supporting the design and execution of automated tests
Using SQL queries to validate data and support defect analysis
Logging and tracking bugs and performance issues
Working closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure requirements are met
Participating in team meetings and contributing to improvements in testing practices
What we're looking for:
A 2:2 or above in Computer Science or related field – graduating in 2024 - 2025
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
Experience or familiarity with SQL, PLSQL, XML or HTML
An understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and testing concepts
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
A willingness to take ownership of your work and seek out learning opportunities
Desirable (but not essential):
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Selenium, or APIs
Knowledge of scripting languages such as C#, VBScript, or Python
Awareness of testing frameworks or quality assurance principles
Experience with Agile delivery environments
Your development journey:
You'll receive support from a dedicated mentor, access to a strong peer network of other graduates, and opportunities to collaborate with teams across the business. Over 18–24 months, you'll build your skills and confidence, with the aim of progressing into a Junior Software Quality Engineer role.
Rotations:
You'll rotate through different project teams and may spend time in Production Support to gain broader knowledge of the business and its software systems.
