Job Title: Kubernetes Cloud Engineer
Locations: 100% Remote

SS&C is seeking an experienced Kubernetes and Cloud Operations Platform Engineer to join our team and help us build out our cloud infrastructure and operations capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing company and make a significant impact on our technology stack and operations.
As an AI Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Kubernetes and containerization. You will also be responsible for Platform Engineer on a daily basis and eventually building out a team to handle release management and operations, ensuring that our applications are deployed efficiently, reliably, and securely. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and experience in building and managing high-performing teams.

What You Will Get To Do:
- Cloud Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain our cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes clusters, containerization, and cloud-native services.
- Kubernetes Expertise: Develop and maintain expertise in Kubernetes, including cluster management, deployment strategies, and troubleshooting.
- Release Management: Develop and implement release management processes and procedures to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure deployment of applications.
- Team Building: Build out a team of engineers to handle release management and operations, including recruiting, training, and mentoring team members.
- Operations: Develop and implement operational processes and procedures to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of our applications and infrastructure.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth deployment of applications and provide feedback on application design and architecture.
- Monitoring and Logging: Develop and implement monitoring and logging strategies to ensure visibility into application and infrastructure performance.
- Security: Ensure that our cloud infrastructure and applications are secure, compliant with industry standards, and meet regulatory requirements.
- Cost Optimization: Optimize cloud costs and ensure that our infrastructure is running efficiently and effectively.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation on our cloud infrastructure, release management processes, and operational procedures.
What You Will Bring:
- Technical Expertise: 5+ years of experience in cloud computing, with a focus on Kubernetes and containerization.
- Leadership Experience: 2+ years of experience in building and managing high-performing teams.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Kubernetes: Experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management, deployment strategies, and troubleshooting.
- Development Experience: 3+ years of development experience (Go, Java, Python or other languages)
- Release Management: Experience with release management tools and processes, such as GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment.
- Operations: Experience with operational processes and procedures, including monitoring, logging, and security.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Experience collaborating with development teams and other stakeholders to ensure smooth deployment of applications.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technical requirements and priorities.
- Certifications: Kubernetes certifications, such as CKA or CKAD and Cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or GCP Certified Professional Cloud Developer.
