Get To Know The Team

SS&C Digital is seeking an experienced React Native Mobile Developer to design, build and support secure, high-quality mobile applications for the financial-services industry.

Working within a multidisciplinary Agile engineering team, you will deliver cross-platform iOS and Android experiences that provide customers, advisers and employers with secure access to financial products and services.

You will take ownership throughout the complete software-delivery lifecycle, from technical design and development through automated testing, release and production support. You will collaborate closely with product managers, business analysts, designers, quality engineers, backend developers, architects, security specialists and DevOps engineers.

What Will You Get To Do

• Design, develop and maintain mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript.
• Build reusable, accessible and maintainable components for iOS and Android.
• Translate UX designs, business requirements and acceptance criteria into high-quality mobile experiences.
• Integrate applications with REST and GraphQL APIs and associated digital services.
• Implement secure authentication and authorisation journeys, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, biometrics and multi-factor authentication.
• Manage application state, navigation, caching, error handling and offline behaviour.
• Integrate native iOS and Android capabilities where required.
• Develop automated unit, component, integration and end-to-end tests.
• Participate in peer reviews and contribute to engineering standards and reusable patterns.
• Diagnose and resolve defects, performance issues and production incidents.
• Support automated build, signing, deployment and app-store release processes.
• Implement monitoring, analytics and crash-reporting capabilities.
• Apply secure development practices appropriate to regulated financial services.
• Ensure applications meet accessibility requirements, including WCAG 2.2 AA and relevant mobile-platform guidance.
• Contribute to technical design decisions, estimates, backlog refinement and sprint planning.
• Maintain appropriate technical documentation.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity while maintaining engineering, security and review standards.
• Mentor less-experienced developers and share knowledge across the wider engineering community.
  
  

What You Will Bring

• Strong commercial experience developing mobile applications with React Native.
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of React components, hooks, state management and application lifecycle.
• Experience delivering and supporting applications on both iOS and Android.
• Knowledge of React Native navigation and commonly used state-management approaches.
• Experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Understanding of secure token storage, session management, encryption and mobile authentication.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox, Appium or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Xcode, Android Studio, CocoaPods and Gradle.
• Experience troubleshooting device-specific, platform-specific and performance issues.
• Understanding of Git-based development, pull requests and continuous integration.
• Experience with automated mobile build and release pipelines.
• Knowledge of Apple App Store and Google Play release processes.
• Understanding of mobile accessibility, responsive design and inclusive user experiences.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a distributed, multidisciplinary Agile team.
  
  

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Native iOS development experience using Swift.
• Native Android development experience using Kotlin or Java.
• Experience with Expo, Fastlane or equivalent mobile-delivery tooling.
• Knowledge of mobile application security standards, including OWASP MASVS.
• Experience with certificate pinning, device integrity checks and biometric authentication.
• Familiarity with identity platforms such as Keycloak.
• Experience using mobile monitoring, analytics and crash-reporting platforms.
• Knowledge of feature flags, remote configuration and phased releases.
• Experience working with AWS-hosted platforms and containerized backend services.
• Experience within financial services, pensions, investments, wealth management or another regulated industry.
• Understanding of privacy, data protection and secure handling of personal and financial information.
• Experience developing reusable components within a shared mobile design system.
• Familiarity with behavioral-driven development and Cucumber-style acceptance criteria.
• Experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot within an enterprise engineering environment.
