Job Description
Senior Business Systems Analyst (DST Technologies, Inc; Kansas City, MO) The Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing and producing accurate and thorough project documentation and deliverables, including project benefits, feasibility, requirements, scope, risks, and justification. The role involves using multiple agile techniques and a solid understanding of SS&C's products, business processes, and development life cycle to collaborate efforts with several different groups throughout the organization to deliver business critical solutions. The analyst will be the functional expert on the solution being built and its requirements. Additional duties include project administration tasks such as tracking and assigning work to team members, facilitating meetings, developing, and delivering project communications and reports. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary enhancements. Adherence to standard agile practices, software engineering development practices, organizational processes and Information Security protocols is crucial. Specific duties include: Develop and maintain a sprint backlog for retirement solutions initiatives, prioritizing features and enhancements based on business impact, customer requirement, and technological feasibility. Define requirements and deliver best practice solutions by reviewing with product owner and team members using various requirements elicitation and project discovery techniques. Analyzing and scoping incoming project requests from business and working with leadership to adjust the project roadmap as necessary. Perform gap analysis on complex business processes and identifying improvements to bridge these gaps. Facilitate agile scrum ceremonies for the team like daily standup, sprint planning, grooming, sprint review and retro to obtain and incorporate feedback, improve communication and efficiency. Develop detailed requirements document, API contracts, project details document, support turnover document and communicate major project milestones for all projects to keep stakeholders informed. Lead project kick-off call to review the scope of the project implementation details and testing strategy before commencing project construction to get feedback from various experts such as architects, support team, product, and client consultants. Collaborate with QAs to review project testing considerations to develop comprehensive test cases which would mitigate risks associated with the implementation or enhancement of systems and processes. Administer project activities on project management dashboard to develop and maintain project backlog, create relevant project tickets, update project status/milestones, maintain project artifacts page, define project scope, triage project bugs, execute project closure, and document requirement details. Review contract documentation for APIs developed and validated on customer API portal. Present project summary and status on client call to inform clients of the progress on the project and address any questions they have on project documentation or release timeline. Create tickets to handle off-schedule releases and follow up to closure. Telecommuting permitted.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field plus 1 year of related experience. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field plus 2 years of related experience.
Must have: Experience with SQL and relational databases. Experience working in an agile environment using Scrum. Ability to learn quickly, apply new skills, and adapt to a continuously evolving technical landscape.
