Overview

The Facility Staff Experience Supervisor plays a critical role in promoting employee well-being and supporting recruitment and retention efforts within the organization. The Supervisor performs supervisory, administrative and coordinative work involving the planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive staff wellness programs to enhance employee satisfaction, engagement, and overall job satisfaction. The supervisor collaborates with various departments to create a positive work environment that prioritizes employee well-being and contributes to long-term employee retention.

•    Staff retention
 
The Facility Staff Experience Supervisor provides guidance and support regarding recruitment and retention efforts, as well as general HR and DOC related information, protocols, and requirements. Work is performed with considerable latitude for independent judgment and decision-making under the supervision of the Facility Superintendent.  
 
All employees of the Agency of Human Services perform their respective functions adhering to four key practices: customer service, holistic service, strength-based relationships, and results orientation.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting but frequent travel to recruitment events, other facility/field sites is required, for which private means of transportation must be available. In-state and out of state travel may be required. Evening and weekend work may be necessary. Work under pressure of deadline and interactions with staff promoting opposing concepts are required.

Minimum Qualifications

High school or equivalent AND two (2) years' experience in a leadership or a human resources position.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree
Experience with a correctional or law enforcement agency
Prior Leadership training and experience.
Previous experience in the field of Corrections.
Previous Supervisory experience.
Previous experience in the field of Employee Recruitment and Retention.

Special Requirements

Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to this position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion, or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
