Description

The Compensation Specialist is responsible for administering company compensation programs and maintaining compensation systems, procedures, and controls consistent with the Firm's policies and practices. This position works with the HR department and leadership to manage job descriptions while acting as a subject matter expert and point of contact for compensation solutions. The Specialist will also analyze market data, price jobs, and assign jobs to the appropriate salary grade.



What We're Looking For

  • Collaborates with managers, directors, business partners, and talent acquisition to design, develop, and maintain skill-based job descriptions.
  • Educate managers and employees and answer questions about the organization's compensation programs.
  • Gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information, including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Benchmark base salary and salary compensation programs while ensuring the Firm's competitive position.
  • Develop training and documentation related to employee compensation.
  • Ensure compliance with all appropriate federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Conduct the annual review of pay structures, including market analysis and benchmark job calibration.
  • Conduct periodic compensation audits and prepare and present reports.
  • Maintain and update the database of all job descriptions according to standard functional areas, maintain and design various tools and templates for HR departments, and ensure adherence to FLSA and equal pay.
  • Performs regulatory audits.
  • Participate in compensation surveys, review salary survey reports, and act as the point of contact for survey vendors.


What You'll Bring

  • Solid knowledge of compensation administration, legislation, and compliance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Significant amount of organization and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and to be flexible with ever-changing priorities and deadlines.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum Required: 2+ years of experience as a Specialist in Human Resources.


Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with compensation systems is preferred.
