Stifel's Information Technology (IT) Department provides technical support to our 9,000+ employees firm-wide and maintains our technological infrastructure. Our IT associates include software engineers, developers, programmers, analysts, and more.
The Information Technology (IT) Intern will represent Stifel IT's infrastructure, operations, cybersecurity, and customer support teams by performing various complex and confidential duties. This position will have the opportunity to work in service areas such as our IT Service Desk, Endpoint Computing, IT Operations, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Mobile Teams to develop professionally by contributing to projects that support the business.
What We're Looking For
- Work with and assist Stifel IT professionals in their daily duties to help develop an understanding of the Stifel business models through the lens of our various IT support teams.
- Apply academic knowledge and learn new skills by contributing to various projects.
- Work according to standards and practices set by IT Service Desk management or senior team members.
- Assist in creating and maintaining IT operational workflows, knowledge documents, and communications to IT and Stifel employees.
- Assist in the preparation of reports.
What You'll Bring
- Strong analytical skills focused on using logic, reasoning, and data to identify complex relationships, including research and discussion of recommended uses.
- Ability to research a problem from beginning to end, creating detailed documentation
- Basic understanding of financial industry terminology and concepts.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or problem approaches.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information technology, computer science, or a related field.
Systems & Technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
