Description

The IT Technician AV Support maintains computer systems and other technologies within Stifel. Their duties include working with different IT Technicians to install hardware, troubleshoot computer issues, respond to IT questions from other associates, and provide audio-visual support. Additionally, the IT Technician AV Support will provide support for high-end presentations, ensuring that all audio-visual technologies are functioning optimally, including setting up and managing AV equipment for executive-level meetings, conferences, and special events and providing real-time troubleshooting to ensure seamless presentations.



What We're Looking For

• Install and resolve technical issues with user PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and audio visual equipment.
• Assist customers and staff with hardware, software, and audio-visual challenges.
• Escalate issues to appropriate support members/teams when necessary.
• Provide set up and support for audio-visual equipment for employee use.
• Install cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
• Maintain records of tickets and daily data communication transactions.
• Ability and means to travel; occasional night and weekend work required and overnight travel (up to 15%).
• Provide onsite AV support to internal and external stakeholders during meetings in conference rooms or event spaces. Assist with video conferencing, presentations, Wi-Fi connections, and special requests/events.
• Ability to interact with and provide AV support to executive-level team members.
• Monitor systems and perform regular A/V tests & maintenance to ensure systems are fully operational.
• Physical support includes Video Conference Rooms, TV monitors in work areas, common areas and private offices, A/V equipment in data rooms, and training rooms.
• Provide onsite and remote troubleshooting, supporting internal and external stakeholders as needed, mainly if a critical need arises for a crucial meeting or broadcast.
• Install firmware and software updates to AV devices as needed, including post-update testing.
• Ability to perform basic installs of A/V equipment and monitor outside A/V vendors/installers.
• Help with the creation of basic system documentation and user guides.



What You'll Bring

• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting audio and visual equipment, including experience with microphones, projectors, sound systems, video conferencing tools, TVs, and Cable TV.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts & how A/V systems are wired/connected.
• Basic understanding of video conferencing applications, Zoom, and MS Teams.
• Strong customer service and effective verbal and written communication skills are required to explain technical issues to non-technical users and document support interactions. Additionally, the role involves interacting with senior executives, requiring high professionalism and discretion.
• Pro-active, self-starter, team player, willingness to learn and grow, reliable, excellent problem solver that likes to get things done.
• The ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively, including diagnosing problems with IT and A/V equipment and software, is a key requirement for this role.



Education & Experience

• Minimum Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A college degree, associate's degree, and/or certification in a related field, such as audio-visual technology or IT, is preferred.
• Minimum Required: 2+ years of hands-on experience with A/V equipment and related software.



Licenses & Credentials

• Preferred CompTIA or specific AV Technology Certification.



Systems & Technology

• Proficient in Windows and Mac.
• Experience with audio-visual equipment and support.
• Familiarity with basic installation, operation, programming and support of devices and software from HP/Poly, Crestron, DTEN, Jabra, QSYS, Shure, Logitech, Zoom, MS Teams, Dell, is preferred.
• Strong computer skills are required, including MS Office O365 Suite, MS Administration Tools, Outlook, Tier 1 computer setup, and troubleshooting skills.
• MS certifications are preferred.
