- A minimum of 4 to 7 years' experience as diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment rental background preferred.
- Proficient troubleshooting and diagnosing skills with electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment systems.
- Perform minor and major repairs on gas and diesel engines, complex hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains on manual and power shift transmissions.
- Must have the required tools you need to perform repairs in this line of work; averaging $5,000+ in value.
- Troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctions and repair our fleet of heavy construction rental equipment.
- Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications and maintaining warranty records.
- A DOT medical card is required – if you don't have one we will help you obtain one!
- Clean driving record, you will be driving a field service truck; maintaining a safe driving record is the highest priority to maintain our safety culture.
- Must be open to covering a territory in Odessa, you will be based in a field territory repairing our fleet of equipment on customer job sites.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on a variety of diesel-powered equipment, including heavy machinery, trucks, and smaller tools. This includes tasks like changing oil and filters, inspecting hydraulic systems, and addressing any mechanical issues.
- Outdoor Work: As a Field Technician III, you'll work primarily outdoors, often in less-than-ideal weather conditions. This may include working in the rain, snow, or extreme heat. Be prepared to adapt to the elements while maintaining safety standards.
- Safety Sensitivity: This position is safety-sensitive, meaning that the mechanic's job directly affects the safety of the equipment and those who operate it. Strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines is crucial.
- Physical Demands: The job can be physically demanding, as it involves lifting heavy equipment parts, crawling under machinery, and standing for extended periods. Good physical fitness and stamina are important.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: You'll need strong problem-solving skills to identify issues with equipment, conduct thorough diagnostics, and determine the appropriate repair procedures.
- Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required because you will need to travel to job sites and transport equipment to and from the service location.
