Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered - Please do not submit PREVIOUS EMPLOYEES NOT ACCEPTED JOB SUMMARY The RN and LPN partners with our residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect care. Units include 3 East is a 31-bed specialized unit, working with Alzheimers/dementia residents, and tailoring care to meet their needs. Key aspects of this unit are the use of both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, understanding the difficult behaviors that are sometimes associated with residents that have Alzheimer's/Dementia, as well as understanding that these behaviors can be valid communications. It provides needed care to those residents needing long term placement in a home-like environment. The Transitional Rehabilitation Unit occupies the second floor of d'Youville Pavilion. This 42-bed unit provides short-term, skilled nursing and rehab services to patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other illnesses or injuries of a short-term nature where a rehab approach might be beneficial. Nursing services often include IV therapy, wound care and geriatric assessment and management. 3 West is a 42-bed long-term care unit. It provides needed care to those residents needing long term placement in a home-like environment. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education: Associates in Nursing Need valid State of Maine or compact RN license Experience: 1-3 years previous RN Other Skills Required: Medical terminology preferred Strong teamwork and communication skills required. The ability to work well within a team of other care providers Flexibility required to coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days per week Flexibility to float to other units as needed An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
