Summary:

Tetra Tech's Disaster Recovery Team is now accepting applications for Field Biologists. Field Biologists will support the field project team by recommending and monitoring  environmental best management practices (BMPs) to protect predetermined areas from negative impacts. Biologists may also be required to assess threatened or endangered species habitat for appropriate BMPs.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in diverse natural environments.
  • Collecting data and analyze it.
  • Will conduct required environmental assessments and monitor debris removal and tree felling/removal crews to ensure they are implementing the project environmental protection plan and operational permit(s) required BMPs and AMMs.
  • Assess, monitor, and document identified endangered species, nesting birds, water quality permits, and stormwater BMPs.
  • Field biologists must also be organized, precise and honest with the data they record in order to achieve accurate and reliable research results.

Qualifications:

  • Biology degree with field or wildlife experience
  • Ability to work up to 6 days a week, 10-12 hours a day, outdoors
  • Must have valid driver license and good driving record
  • Biologist who specialize in aviary and amphibian species is a plus
  • Nesting bird survey experience preferred
  • If your position requires a Medical Monitoring Exam you must be cleared for duty for continued employment.
