Tetra Tech is looking for an Associate Security Consultant to join our leading security team. The role boasts amazing opportunities to work in a wide variety of sectors, alongside a team of professionally registered security professionals with a wealth of experience.

The team work on many prestigious built environment projects, focused on delivering security strategies and technical designs to support the aspirations of our clients. They have an unparalleled customer base, representing some of the best security challenges across the UK.

The role:

  • Manage the forecasting and prioritisation of resource across the security workstream.

  • Act as point of escalation for clients

  •  Act as point of escalation for Principal Security Consultants in their delivery of standalone security projects.

  • Lead on delivery of complex of multi-disciplinary security projects.

  • Support the coordination of day-to-day operational delivery across the security workstream including overseeing accurate maintenance of our project information.

  •  Maintain situational awareness through coordination with security National Technical Authorities.

  • Line manage Principal Security Consultants within the core security team and support their continuous professional development.

  •  Contribute to business development in fostering and maintaining constructive relationships with key clients and industry partners.

About You:

  • A good understanding, and demonstrable experience of security risk management within the built environment.

  • Experience of delivering security projects within the built environment, a significant part of which must include demonstrable experience of working in a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment.

  • Relevant degree level qualification in security or a related built environment discipline.

  • Chartered Engineer (ICE preferrable), or Member of the Register of Security Engineering Specialists

  • Possesses a significant understanding of security risk management principles, policies, and procedures and able to lead on developments in these areas.

  • Excellent knowledge of current initiatives within the industry such as SABRE, Secured by Design, and security research, technology & innovation.

  • Significant experience in the production of technical reports, threat and risk assessments, and operational requirements and specifications, aligned with the RIBA Plan of Work stages

  • Ability to engage with clients to establish clear security briefs and technology requirements.

  • Significant experience of the risk management process aligned to ISO 31000.

  • Ability to manage and prioritise the workload of a project team including the delegation and quality assurance of tasks and deliverables. 

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and the ability to communicate clearly at all levels, internally and externally.

  •  A good understanding, and demonstrable experience, of electronic security systems, physical security design, and security operations within the built environment (noting it is anticipated one of these will be the stronger / preferred discipline).

  • Able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) before appointment. This role will require the candidate to achieve UKSV SC and DV.

  • The nature of the work requires you to be a sole UK National.

  • Willingness to travel across the UK when required to support projects or attend client sites.

  • Willing to be in the office or project site up to 3 days a week as part of our Hybrid working model.
