Tetra Tech is adding a Bridge Paint Inspector to our Transportation team based in Oklahoma City, OK, with work also supporting projects in the Tulsa, OK area. This role supports critical transportation infrastructure projects by ensuring bridge coating systems meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Position Summary:
The Bridge Paint Inspector is responsible for inspecting bridge coating and paint systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and regulatory standards. This position supports transportation infrastructure projects across Oklahoma and requires extensive field presence and travel.

Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
    • Inspect exterior paint and coating systems on bridges and related structures.
    • Perform visual inspections and coating thickness testing at various stages of the painting process.
    • Identify and report potential safety hazards associated with bridge coating inspections.
    • Verify compliance of equipment placement and job site layout with project specifications.
    • Monitor containment and emissions control measures throughout project execution.
    • Perform lead paint removal inspections in accordance with applicable regulations.
    • Travel extensively between project sites and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
    • 2–5+ years of related coatings inspection experience.
    • AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (NACE CIP Levels 1–3).
    • SSPC Lead Abatement (C-3/5), must be obtained prior to start.
    • Bridge Coatings Inspector (BCI) certification.
    • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
    • Ability to work remotely and transmit data electronically using a company-issued laptop.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Must reside in Oklahoma.

Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience inspecting bridge coating projects for state or municipal transportation agencies.
    • Familiarity with DOT standards and specifications.
    • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects.

Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at heights.
    • Ability to walk, stand, climb, and perform moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
    • Frequent use of inspection tools, testing equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
    • Primarily outdoor work on active bridge and transportation project sites.
    • Exposure to traffic, noise, dust, heights, and industrial environments.
    • Use of appropriate PPE, including respiratory protection, as required.

Additional Information:
    • Employment Type: Full-time, regular position.
    • Work Schedule: Schedule may include extended or irregular hours and regular overtime depending on project demands.
    • Work Location: Oklahoma City or Tulsa, Oklahoma; extensive travel required statewide.
    • Travel Requirements: 100% travel between project sites. Travel beyond a 50-mile radius from the assigned office is eligible for GSA per diem and lodging rates.
    • Remote Work: Administrative and reporting tasks may be completed remotely when not on active job sites.
