We currently have an opening for a Civil Engineer to join our team in the magnificent city of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creation and production of technical specifications and construction documents for a wide range of exciting and challenging port, harbour, marina, and waterfront infrastructure projects. 

Your Role 

  • Proactively collaborate with project managers, designers, and engineers throughout the entire life cycle of Tetra Tech projects.  This includes working closely with clients from conceptual designs, all the way through to engineering, technical specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate with Tetra Tech managers to follow industry standards and implement best practices.
  • Ensure timely project completion to deliver projects on time within budget.
  • The position may require occasional travel.

 Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Degrees in Coastal Engineering or Ocean Engineering will also be considered.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a civil engineer is required. Experience should demonstrate the ability to create construction documents with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or another industry leading software such as SketchUp, Revit, Rhino or MicroStation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, committed to project schedules and deadlines, able to work within a team environment and be self-motivated.
  • Demonstratable experience with the creation of construction documents.
  • Experience with technical specifications and permitting is a plus.
  • Solid work ethic with attention to detail, a care for the handling of projects, and a desire to improve and grow.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise written correspondence, reports, and recommendations in English and Spanish
