The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is seeking Civil Engineering Interns to join our teams in New York, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering support for the civil engineering design and hydrologic and hydraulic modelling group. Typical projects include a wide variety of federal, state, and municipal projects involving storm water, site layout and design, water resources, and water/wastewater projects involving collection and conveyance systems and associated utility design, pump stations, and storage and treatment facilities.

Your Role:
- Assist in design and permitting of projects
- Support Engineers with conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses
- Assist in preparation of detailed engineering reports and supporting documents
- Assist in preparation of construction drawings, specifications and cost estimates
- Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects
- Interface with other engineering discipline
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (third- or fourth-year student) or a recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 0-1 years of relevant civil engineering experience (EIT certification preferred for recent graduates).
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, REVIT and/or ArcGIS preferred.
- Exposure to water/wastewater treatment or municipal engineering projects is highly desired.
- Understanding of design-bid-build processes, including engineering analysis, permitting, development of construction documents (plans and specifications), cost estimating, and construction administration.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on engineering designs.
The range for this role is between $22 - $25/hour
