Tetra Tech is hiring a Civil Engineer to support the U.S. Department of State's Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) Athens Major Rehab Project. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the renovation of a historic U.S. diplomatic facility while ensuring high-quality engineering and construction oversight.

Your Impact:

As a Civil Engineer on the Athens Major Rehab Project, you will play a critical role in ensuring construction activities are executed in accordance with U.S. codes and standards. You will be responsible for quality assurance, technical inspections, and coordination with other engineering disciplines to maintain compliance with contract requirements.

                                                                                          

Proposal Summary: 

The OBO Athens Major Rehab Project involves the full renovation of a historic U.S. diplomatic facility in Athens, Greece. This 24-month project encompasses major upgrades to civil, electrical, mechanical, architectural, and safety systems. Tetra Tech will provide on-site professional staff to ensure quality, compliance, and schedule performance throughout construction. All roles are contingent upon contract award and subject to U.S. Department of State client approval.

Position Summary:

The Civil Engineer will support the renovation efforts for a historic U.S. diplomatic facility by performing on-site technical inspections, reviewing engineering submittals, and overseeing quality assurance. This is a 24-month assignment based in Athens, Greece, with the potential for extension. A minimum of seven (7) years of construction site experience is required.

Responsibilities:

·       Perform technical inspections of civil and structural work.

·       Monitor the contractor's quality control and safety programs.

·       Review contractor submittals and design drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements.

·       Resolve technical conflicts and propose engineering solutions.

·       Provide weekly progress reports with technical reviews and recommendations.

·       Track construction progress and coordinate with project team and stakeholders.

·       Ensure compliance with U.S. construction codes and best practices.

·       Maintain a daily project log and participate in project meetings.

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited U.S. university (ABET-accredited or substantially equivalent).

·       Minimum seven (7) years of experience on active construction sites.

·       Professional Engineering License (PE) acceptable in lieu of degree.

·       Experience with U.S. building codes, quality control, and construction safety practices.

·       Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

·       U.S. citizenship required; must possess or be able to obtain a Final Secret security clearance.

·       Overseas work experience preferred.

·       Familiarity with international building standards and cross-disciplinary coordination preferred.
