Summary:
We currently have an opening for a Mid-level Cost Estimator in our Global Services Design Team. The location of this position is flexible for the right candidate.
Tetra Tech provides architecture and engineering services in support of deployed U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel, as well as allied foreign government agencies. Our engineers and architects deliver facility and utility planning, design, and construction phase services around the world, including remote locations. From buildings and utilities to airfield and waterfront facilities, Tetra Tech's multidisciplinary expertise spans the full range of military installation projects.
International development projects have included feasibility studies, design, retrofitting, and construction of housing for displaced populations, roads, energy solutions, health care facilities, grade schools and universities, water and wastewater infrastructure, wastewater reuse, and disaster relief services.
Your Role:
- Reviews plans and specifications to become familiar with project scopes
- Ensures that corporate estimating procedures are followed
- Support and work with estimating/engineering/business development staff in the review of project plans, requirements and specifications
- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing of primarily federal construction projects
- Perform constructability reviews and develop draft project schedules as needed
- Support client presentations such as charrettes, design review meetings, and value engineering meetings
- Supervise junior level estimating staff or estimating subconsultants as needed
- Good customer services skills – for both internal and external clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent from accredited college or university; engineering or quantity survey degree preferred
- Six to ten years' experience in cost estimating for facilities/vertical construction
- Certification such as CCT, CCP or CEP is preferred
- General knowledge of construction methods and practices and well-versed in cost estimating (MII/MCACES/PACES preferred) and construction scheduling experience preferred
- Working knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense or other federal agency cost estimating/engineering principles and best practices preferred
- Working knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
- Strong individual contributor who is comfortable and effective in working with internal discipline teams and external client teams.
- Good listening and communication skills.
- Due to the clients we serve, this position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence Card
- Must be able to pass background screening including criminal history, credit check etc.
- Ability to drive on an occasional basis for business purposes preferred. In order to do this, you will need a valid driver's license, pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) background check, and maintain a safe driving record.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $115,000.
