Responsibilities:
This position will be part of a dynamic team of engineers and scientists engaged in a wide range of engineering and remedial science projects providing civil and/or geotechnical engineering services in environmental restoration, land development, and water resources throughout the mid-Atlantic Region. The ideal candidate will work with project teams to prepare engineering designs for temporary roads and grading plans, conduct field work including multimedia environmental sampling for remedial investigations (RI), feasibility studies (FS), pre-design investigations (PDI), remedial designs (RD), environmental cleanup oversight, operation and maintenance (O&M) of cleanup remedies. The candidate will assist in technical report writing and review. Project work will primarily be in support of United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) projects in accordance with CERCLA, RCRA, and other Federal and State environmental programs.
• Assist with the preparation of construction drawings, details, specifications, calculations, and engineer's estimate of probable construction costs.
• Under supervision, will perform site and roadway layout, grading, drainage infrastructure calculations and report development.
• Assist in the layout and design of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Utilize various design codes for US DoD and USACE.
• Assist in the preparation of Master Development plans and engineering studies.
• Coordinate design work with other engineering disciplines throughout the design process.
• Review construction shop drawings and requests for information.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• This position will have field and non-field related responsibilities.
• Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering. Environmental or civil engineering is preferred.
• 0 to two years of engineering experience with a focus on site design.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 50%. Travel will be mostly local.
• 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is preferred but not required
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and have strong interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented with good time-management and computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks.
This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.

Language & Communication Skills: Must be fluent in the English language – writing and speaking.
Other Skills: Experience in AutoCAD is preferred. Experience in Microsoft Windows Word, Excel, PowerPoint, is preferred.
