The Opportunity:
We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals for various roles for its Humanitarian Mine Action Project in Ukraine: Master EOD Technicians, IMAS Level 3+, EOD Mentor &Training Instructor's, UXO Safety & Quality Control officers, EOD and Engineer Divers, HMA Mechanical Instructors / Operators and individuals with proven HMA Operational clearance experience at Field Manager/Team Leader level.
Personnel will be required to travel for various lengths of time (short and long-term) and work and live in multiple locations when required. Previous experience of working in various climates is essential.

Your Role:
Mentor and Training Instructors:
• Provide training as a member of a team or individual, providing theoretical and practical IMAS EOD Levels 1,2,3 & 3+, Manual Mine Clearance (MMC), Battle Area Clearance (BAC) and support to Mechanical Operations.
• Training host nation instructors on curriculum delivery to IMAS Standards, and best practice HMA Techniques, to capacity build their national capacity.
• Write and produce lesson plans, exams, practical tests and PowerPoint presentations for inclusion in Training Management Packages.
• Experience in utilizing survey 123 or other reporting platforms an advantage.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Perform additional duties as required.
HMA Clearance Operations
• Provide technical advice on UXO detection, identification, and clearance operations within an assigned area of responsibility.
• Utilize applicable requirements (codes, standards, specifications, regulations, procedures, etc.) and, as necessary, tools, instruments, and equipment to perform assigned activities.
• Assist in the preparation of required work documents such as Supportive Records/SOP Documentation/NTS Reports/Hazard Reports/EORE Reports/Spot Task Reports/Clearance Plans/Completion Reports/Weekly Ops Manager Reports for Task Sites.
• Provide guidance and assistance for HMA Clearance teams in their day-to-day operations.
• Ensure proper training, equipping, and rehearsal of HMA Clearance teams and their supporting elements and manage the day-to-day implementation of assigned clearance tasks throughout the AOR / assigned clearance task.
• Provide expertise and oversight in Safe to Move Ordnance Removal, Unsafe Disposal, and Destruction and any PSSM activities.
• Experience of utilizing Survey 123 or other reporting platforms for all reporting purposes (Training given if you have not used this).
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Perform various other duties as assigned by the Clearance Operations Manager.
UXO Safety & Quality Control Officers
• Meet DDESB TP-18 UXOSO/UXOQCS Table 4.1 Minimum Qualifications / IMAS Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience with Range Clearance Operations, MMC, BAC, HMA.
• Experience in utilizing survey 123 for reporting purposes an advantage.
• Implement the HSE Plan and Monitor compliance with the HSE Plan.
• Implement the project's quality control (QC) plan for UXO-related activities in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Identify operational changes that require modifications to the health and safety procedures and the HSE Plan.
• Conduct Safety Inspections as required.
• Conduct and document weekly and monthly inspections.
• Direct and coordinate health and safety monitoring activities.
• Conduct and document inspections of equipment brought on site.
• Notify the PSQM, Operations Manager, TOL, or other project management personnel of any incidents, conduct investigations, complete required investigative documentation.
• Coordinate with the PSQM, Operations Manager, TOL or other project personnel on any incident investigation.
• Maintain incident reports on the TOTAL system.
• Ensure monitoring instruments are calibrated before use (if needed).
• Report weekly summaries of field operations and progress to the TOL.
• Act as the alternate emergency coordinator.
• Perform additional duties as required.
EOD Divers
• Provide instruction as a member of a training team to teach all theoretical and practical levels of diving equivalent up to and including Diving Supervisor level (essential).
• Provide instruction as a member of a training team to teach all theoretical and practical aspects of underwater EOD/IEDD (desirable).
• Provide instruction as a member of a training team to teach all theoretical and practical aspects of underwater search and engineering equipment (desirable).
• Assist in producing lesson plans.
• Mentor national personnel on live operational diving tasks.
• Identify areas for operational improvement to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and safety.
• Deliver host-nation capacity development and achieve sustainable long-term future capability.
• Experience of utilizing Survey 123 or other reporting platforms for all reporting purposes (Training given if you have not used this).
• Perform additional duties as required.
HMA Mechanical Instructors
• Desirable to be already trained/have demonstratable experience on the following mechanical demining machines Dok-ing MV-4 & MV-10, GCS-100 & GCS-200, FAE PT-300D-MINE and Bozena 5.
• Perform training as a member of a team to teach all theoretical and practical levels of mechanical demining including use of mechanical demining machines and COTS plant in all disciplines of clearance including structure and rubble clearance.
• Training host nation instructors on delivering Mechanical training curriculum (IMAS Standards) and best practice mechanical clearance Techniques to assist in building their national capacity.
• Write and produce lesson plans, exams, practical tests and PowerPoint presentations for inclusion in Training Management Packages.
• Experience of utilizing Survey 123 or other reporting platforms for all reporting purposes (Training given if you have not used this).
• Experience and operating COTS mechanical plant machinery such as JCB 4CX backhoe and JCB JS220 excavator.
• Preferably have mechanical and welding experience.
• Be prepared to deploy for extended durations with HMA Clearance teams to provide mechanical clearance expertise in the field.
• Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
All Roles
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred for senior positions.
• Proven instructional experience (desirable).
• Fluent in English (essential).
• The ability to work with an interpreter and clearly relay the subject matter to students.
• Military formal training qualification and certificate or civilian equivalent as instructor (desirable).
• Must have international experience that includes living and working overseas from your normal place of residence and having the motivation to work under arduous conditions.
• Certificates of completion for roles advertised and applying for.
• Valid driver's license and passport with at least one year before expiration.
• Knowledge of applicable US DoD and IMAS standards, industry, and international best practices.
• 40-hour Hazwoper certification (desirable).
• 8-hour Hazwoper certification (desirable).
• For former US EOD candidates Secret Clearance is desired.
• Knowledge of Host Country requirements and culture.
• Construction or Hazardous Waste Operations experience is preferred.
• First Aid trained (desirable).
• Proficient in use of PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
Instructor / Mentor / HMA Clearance
• Certificate of completion from an UXO or EOD program or equivalent military certification to the required standards (IMAS Level 3+)
• Demonstrable experience of being an instructor within a HMA program / environment.
UXO Safety & Quality Control Officers
• Certificate of completion from an UXO or EOD program or equivalent military certification to the required standards (IMAS Level 3).
• Demonstrable experience in QMS, HSE Plans, monitoring compliance with SOP's and reporting against findings, implementing QC procedures, production of AHA's, accident investigations and the use of various electronic platforms for recording all activities and findings during execution of your duties.
EOD Divers
• Military diving qualification (essential).
• Qualified/Certified power boat operator (desirable).
• Must have international experience that includes living and working overseas from your normal place of residence and having the motivation to work under arduous conditions.
• Should have proven, practical hands-on field and training experience and a thorough understanding of the following disciplines:
o Self-Contained Air Diving Equipment (essential)
o Open Space Diving System (essential)
o Underwater EOD/IEDD (desirable)
o Underwater Engineering (desirable) to include but not limited to:
Underwater hydraulic tools
Underwater cutting equipment
Underwater search techniques
Underwater construction and demolition
o At least 100 hours commercial dives logged (essential)
o Dive Supervisor (desirable)
o ROV (desirable)
o Diving equipment maintenance (desirable)
o Offshore First Aid (desirable)
o Decompression chamber (desirable)
HMA Mechanical Instructor
• Certificate of completion from an UXO or EOD program or equivalent military certification to IMAS Level 2 / 3 (Desirable).
• Certification and demonstratable experience in the following Mechanical assets mechanical demining machines Dok-ing MV-4 & MV-10, GCS-100 & GCS-200, FAE PT-300D-MINE and Bozena 5, JCB 4CX backhoe and JCB JS220 excavator are desirable.

Pay commensurate with experience, role, and project/contract dependent.
